How we help the hospitality & leisure industries

It’s the next part of the long-awaited relaxation of restrictions for the Hospitality industry as hotels, bed & breakfasts and other tourist accommodation open their doors this week.

Hotels and B&Bs

It’s not just that you can go and stay somewhere for a break, from this week you are also permitted to travel with friends and family for an overnight stay provided you follow the rule of six or two households only. It’s a fantastic opportunity to kickstart our economy and escape the four walls of our houses for the first time this year. Hotels and B&Bs have been preparing to open their doors and ensure the customer and guest experience is positive and safe. For those brave few that are jetting off to sunnier climes, international travel is still very limited. A staycation in the British Isles could really help our tourism industry.

Cinemas

It has been so long since any of us sat down in the dark to enjoy a movie, another aspect of life we perhaps took for granted. The film industry relies on packing out the cinemas to ensure maximum dollar at the box office but we didn’t see any big blockbuster releases last summer. The Hollywood giants held off through fear of low ticket sales but this time we should see the delayed releases from 2020 as well as some new films at long last. As you would expect there is still safety guidance in place in respect of social distancing – no one likes sitting next to a stranger anyway – plus face coverings to be worn.

Gym classes

If you have overindulged in your excitement to get away then at least you can burn off the calories in a class. Whilst the main gyms have been open for a month with dividers between the machines, there have been no indoor group classes until now.

It’s not just cinemas, hotels and gyms classes, the following attractions and activities are also set to reopen this week:

  • amusement arcades and adult gaming centres
  • bingo halls
  • casinos
  • circuses
  • bowling alleys
  • snooker and pool halls
  • museums and galleries
  • adventure playgrounds and activities
  • skating rinks
  • games and recreation venues, including laser quest, escape rooms, paintballing and recreational driving facilities
  • play areas (including soft play centres and inflatable parks)
  • model villages
  • trampolining parks
  • water and aqua parks
  • theme parks and film studios
  • zoos, safari parks, aquariums and other animal attractions
  • botanical gardens, greenhouses and biomes
  • sculpture parks
  • landmarks including observation wheels or viewing platforms
  • stately or historic homes, castles, or other heritage sites

Exceptional! I had to print my Portfolio that I was still working on right until the last minute of my deadline before my job interview. Gary was in constant communication, on the ball, empathetic and helpful in a stressful time. A true hero! Highly recommend. I will definitely use again.
