Paper Weight or Thickness

One of the first questions we will ask you is what GSM do you want your print job printed on.

What is GSM?
GSM is an acronym standing for ‘Grams per Square Meter’. Quite simply, it allows print buyers and print suppliers to know exactly the quality of paper that is required. The higher the GSM number, the heavier the paper. Being specific about the GSM you’re after can make all the difference. See below for a quick guide to GSM.

90 – 100 gsm
Commonly used for stationery items ie. Letterheads, With Comp Slips & Envelopes. This is also suitable for text pages in Booklets & Magazines. Sometimes this gsm can be used for flyers or brochures to make pricing more economical.

115 – 170 gsm
Standard for Flyers, Brochures, Posters, Wall Planners/Calendars. Can also be used for text pages in Booklets & Magazines, for that more upmarket feel.

200 – 250 gsm
Great for Booklet & Magazine covers. Also ideal for Flyers, for when you want to use that stock that is a little thicker than standard.

300 – 450 gsm
Perfect for Business Cards, also suitable for Flyers, Promo Cards & Invitations.
