Printed Envelopes from Headline Printers in Havant

Envelopes are supplied in C sizes which are slightly larger than the standard A sizes of paper.

• DL 220mm x 110mm – 8.66 inches x 4.33 inches
• C4 229mm x 324mm –  9 inches x 12.8 inches
• C5 162mm x 229mm – 6.4 inches x 9 inches
• C6 114mm x 162mm – 4.5 inches x 6.4 inches

DL Envelopes

A standard DL envelope measures 110mm x 220mm. This is what most people consider a “letter envelope” and fits A4 paper folded into thirds. Business ‘With Compliments slips‘ are designed to fit inside a DL envelope and usually measure 210mm x 99mm.

C4 Envelopes

A standard C4 envelope measures 324mm x 229mm. This is designed to fit unfolded A4 paper. Standard A4 paper size is 210mm x 297mm.

C5 Envelopes

A standard C5 envelope measures 162mm x 229mm. This is designed to fit A4 paper folded in half, or A5 paper unfolded. Standard A5 paper size is 148mm x 210mm.

C6 Envelopes

A standard C6 size envelope measures 114mm x 162mm. This is designed to fit A4 paper folded into quarters, A5 paper folded in half or A6 paper unfolded (often the size of a flyer). Standard A6 paper size is 105mm x 148mm.

In our C5 & DL envelopes the flap is on the long edge, whereas on our C4 envelopes the flap is on the short edge. We also offer C6 envelopes too.

You can choose from windowed or non-windowed envelopes for each of our sizes.

We can supply either 90gsm or 100gsm envelopes.

Artwork specification:

When submitting artwork, please send us two files: one with the artwork template visible and overlaid on your artwork, and another with the template removed, displaying only your artwork.

We use the first document to check your files are accurate, and we will proof and print the second document.

• Outline or embed fonts
• 300dpi resolution
• Supply as a CMYK or black only PDF preferably, in PDF/X1a format
• This product has non-printable areas so please contact us for a template to ensure your artwork meets our technical requirements.
• Bleed is not required
• Please ensure the window area is left free of any artwork as this is also non-printable

We offer flap printing on all of our envelopes. Please contact us for one of our templates to help you set up your artwork correctly. For flap printing, please select the double-sided print option.
